Going Up - Going Down

Had to change weigh in days this week, so instead of weighing in on a Friday morning I am now weighing in on a Tuesday evening. So was a bit disappointed this week with a 0.7 gain but am usually around that much by the end of the day so it wasn't that bad really I guess. Have been a little bit off track recently. Just not in the right head space I guess. But since Tuesday I have been extra vigilant. Eating right, drinking loads of water and exercising everyday. Even managed to survive the kid's school fair with only have a couple of diet cokes! Did have a few "testers" though of the fudge I made to donate and sell, but hopefully have done enough to get rid of the sugar before it settles itself on my hips!! Each month at Curves you can get weighed and measured. This month my centimetres lost were out of this world! When I went this morning I saw the chart on the wall and I was the third biggest loser for the month! Pretty happy with that! I am still aiming to get into the 60s by Christmas! I know I will have to work hard to get there but I am going to give it my all!

August 2007

On holidays in Caloundra

My Girls

Back in the Swing

Been far too long since I have made an entry here but have decided to get back into being accountable - if only to myself!! After a two month period worth of blips in June/July I decided to get back on track. I had put back on all bar about 2 kilos of the weight I lost with WW!! Am following another weight loss programme at the moment and for me it's working. So all up now this year I have lost 10.4kgs. Slow going but at least it's going!! I am still loving going to the gym and try to go everyday that it's physically possible. I have started running again in earnest, which I am especially loving. Have only built it up to half an hour at the moment but am going to steadily increase it. Even bought myself a brand new pair of trainers last week. Ones especially for running! Running in them for the first time was unreal. It was like slipping my feet into a pair of slippers and running on soft cushy foam!! Took 4 minutes off my time for the run that I usually do!! So I will endeavour to add more entries to track and log my progress!!

Getting There

Haven't posted for a few weeks! Life is hectic but still great. I had forgotten how busy life can be when you are working - and yet I am only working 3 full days! Am trying very hard to make sure I fit the exercise in, even on days when I am working, although must admit some days it has had to take a back seat. May has gone like this - made the 5 kilos as you know, the next week I had to change to an afternoon meeting with starting work and register a 0.8 gain taking me back to only 4.5 lost. The next week I lost a massive 2.2 which was just fantastic - taking the total loss to 6.7 in 9 weeks. I have to fess up to my bad pattern though - tending to go a little too crazy immediately after I have a big loss! So this week I had a 0.1 gain. Not the end of the world but still not great when you are trying to lose the blubber!! Caught a bit of a tummy bug or something yesterday and spent the day lying on the sofa or sleeping in bed. Didn't eat a whole lot as I felt totally dreadful. Feeling better today and making sure I eat so that the body doesn't go into starvation mode!! Still loving CORE and how it works for me!

5KG LOST!

Well, I did it! I lost 0.4 this week which brings my total loss to date to 5.3KG!! Am very happy to have hit the 5KG mark! Took me 7 weeks, which at times has flown by, and at other times has seemed to take forever! Am doing well with the May Challenge - it is really helping to keep me focused on the right foods to eat!
Bring on the 10KG lost!!

May Challenge

One of the girls on the WW site set up a challenge on the Core Boards for May. Going to stick to CORE foods only and no sugar! Also promising to do at least 30 minutes of exercise everyday. I am starting today! I got up at 6 a.m. for a walk! Great morning as it has been raining overnight so everything was crisp, clear and sparkling! I walked for 40 minutes! Came home to a healthy CORE breakfast! So far so good! I will be visiting family in about 8 weeks time, so this is a good way to kick start the next two months of losses! Have now lost 4.9kg in 6 weeks, 14cm gone and have lost 1.3% body fat too!! BMI is down from 35.7 when I started to 33.3. Still sadly technically obese but am striving forwards to see it drop into the overweight category and then the normal!! I have had a loss at WW every week so far! Am keen to keep this happening - even if it is only a little loss at least it's not a gain!! Feeling very positive!!!
This was me after losing 15kgs last time with WW. Am hoping to be somewhere close to this by the time I go to visit family at the end of June.

The Beginning....

This is the picture that started it all! It was Christmas Day 2004!

It was hot hot hot! and what was I wearing?? - jeans and practically a long sleeved shirt! I wanted to be covered up! I was smiling for the family photo but inside I wasn't happy at all! I started going to WW and had some success, losing 15kgs. Life got in the way and I obviously hadn't learnt my lessons properly so all the weight I had lost came back and bought a few more extra kilos with it for good measure!

My family and I moved to a new town earlier this year. So I decided "New Town - New Me - New Lifestyle". I rejoined WW on the 13th March 2007. To date, four weeks later I have lost 3.6 kilos!

Next year I will be 40! I DO NOT want to be fat and forty! I am changing my lifestyle now - for good! I want to be a good role model for my children. I want them to learn healthy eating habits and the benefits of exercise, from an early age. I want to be the best me I can be!
